Jennifer Hoheisel
Haddon Township
Hoheisel (pictured) is a philosophy professor at Camden County College known for guiding students and spreading autism awareness. She was recently honored with the top instructional award available to CCC faculty members, the 2010 Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award. Since joining CCC's full-time faculty in 2001, she has headed up the college's honor society, helped develop the honors program and advised liberal arts students. Beyond the classroom, Hoheisel is very active in the community especially as a board member of Parents of Autistic Children Together, the Southwest New Jersey Chapter of the Autism Society of America. She regularly presents workshops on autism spectrum disorders. Janice Milley
Mt. Laurel
After discovering that a local couple was raising their cerebral palsy-afflicted son in a tiny home without adequate furniture, filtered water or a space for his therapy, Milley and three others created Dominic's House—a multi-tiered fundraising effort to provide the family with the home it needs. Voorhees
Ashong, medical education director and medical director of the Osborn Family Health Center at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, has been named to receive the March of Dimes Award 2010 for his work, caring for impoverished children and teaching young physicians how to be better healthcare providers. Cherry Hill
Rose established the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation in memory of her daughter Lauren, who was killed while vacationing overseas. The Foundation is dedicated to helping women achieve better lives for themselves and their families. Rose has been chosen to receive the Garden State Seeds of Hope Award 2010. Joseph Murphy
Haddonfield
Murphy, named Haddonfield Lions Club Citizen of the Year 2010 for his substantial financial support of projects like the restoration of the Mountwell Playground, is now helping DanceHaddonfield raise funds for Nick Scott and Aubree Marchione, originally of Tabernacle, to compete in November’s World Paralympic Wheelchair Dancesport Championships. Mt. Laurel
The Hoods have established the John & Kathy Military Scholarship fund, which recently awarded five $1000 scholarships to children of enlisted personnel in active service with the United States Air Force. Hood also serves as chair of the Scholarship Committee for the Burlington County College Foundation. Clay Matthews
Washington Township
Matthews, a senior at Augustine Prep, worked as a camp counselor at the Jewish Community Center Camps in Medford this summer for the third consecutive year, donating half of his earnings back to the camp to help fund and expand programs for local disadvantaged special needs campers. Josh Cohen
Cherry Hill
Cohen, 12- year-old Rosa Middle School student, knows first-hand the affects of stuttering when trying to communicate. In order to help others afflicted by stuttering, he organized a Zumbathon fundraiser at the Cherry Hill Community Center. All proceeds were donated to the Stuttering Foundation of America.
