Thomas Love Jr. 1959-2011
Thomas Love (pictured), husband, father, son, brother, uncle, coach and friend, died on April 9. He was 51. Love raised his family of six in Voorhees and was passionate about sports and his community. He coached baseball at GVAA’s Rabinowitz Field in Voorhees for the past nine years, and was an assistant coach of the Legion freshman state champs in 2008. Love also served as assistant coach for two district baseball teams and a coach for the Voorhees Basketball Association. A star athlete himself, Love was a hall-of-fame basketball player for Camden Catholic High School, and a college standout at Quinnipiac University. Love will best be remembered for his incredible humility, positive outlook, passion and dedication to those he loved. Cleaning Up
Washington Township High School Renaissance Club students, along with Kohl’s store associates, teamed up to beautify the school’s grounds. Students and associates collected 50 trash bags worth of garbage and weeds. As a part of the program, The Renaissance Club will receive a $1,500 grant from Kohl’s to help fund its recognition ceremony at the end of the year.

Great Brain
Shawnee High School Psychology Club students led the school in marking Brain Day, part of a global Brain Awareness Week. The students raised $403.50 for the Tug McGraw Foundation, which benefits brain cancer research, and received a citation from Rep. Jon Runyan.

Lighthearted Fun
Second-grade students from Countryside and Springville elementary schools in Mount Laurel participated in Math Day at the Holiday Village Clubhouse in Mount Laurel. The day consisted of breakfast and lunch with the senior citizens, as well as some friendly math competitions.

Supporting our Troops
Family Jewelers in Marlton has partnered with LovelinksAmerica to support From Soldier to Soldier, an organization that aids wounded veterans and their families. They’re selling designer versions of the survival and friendship bracelets made and worn by many soldiers overseas.
