Taking it to the next level: That’s the philosophy you’ll find at CareOne at Moorestown.

Many don’t think about senior care until an emergent need arises. With the primary decision maker typically being sandwiched between their children and their parents, it is no wonder. Working to support their children’s dreams of higher education and continued housing, while trying to plan for their own retirement, the “sandwich generation” is stretched thin.

Until the mid ’80s, there were limited avenues for the care of an ailing loved one. Out of that need, the assisted living concept came into play. Fast forward to 2012 and the senior care industry is more complex than ever. Gone are the days where you had the local nursing home as the only option.

Most caregivers struggle with the idea of having to place their loved one in a nursing home, even when it is a necessary option. CareOne at Moorestown has responded to this concern by taking the assisted living concept to the next level. Enhanced Assisted Living offers higher-than-average care levels and a home-like environment to those seniors who would typically need the level of care that a nursing home provides.

All aspects of the community were well-thought out to best meet the needs of assisted living residents who need a higher level of care. Dubbed “the Mount Laurel” neighborhood, CareOne at Moorestown’s Enhanced Assisted Living is designed with multiple community areas for socializing conveniently located in the center of the neighborhood, as well as an outside courtyard. This design allows residents more interaction in activities, and more time with each other, the staff and their families. All this helps to invigorate the residents who would normally spend more time by themselves.

Taking into consideration more immediate medical needs, CareOne at Moorestown also offers a sub-acute rehabilitation program best known in the hospital community for its patient outcomes. With a newly renovated state-of-the-art therapy gym overlooking the horse pasture, it is no wonder the sub-acute rehabilitation is in high demand.

The horse pasture, Majoda Stables, was founded in 1992 on the historic Stow farm that is now the location of CareOne at Moorestown. The building was well over 100 years old when the Stow's estate was sold to CareOne at Moorestown. Seeing the value being located on a farm could bring to the residents, CareOne at Moorestown was interested in keeping Majoda Stables on as a tenant after the construction. The facility and the barn are even of similar architecture. On any given day, you can see the seniors interacting with the horses, donkeys, goats, ducks, chickens, dogs or cats. It is the ideal environment for anyone seeking 24-hour-a-day, post-hospital care.

Boasting physical, occupational and speech therapy seven days a week, people come here for the care and to work up to their maximum potential.

When senior care comes to mind, CareOne at Moorestown isn’t your traditional community. Resident-centered care and personalized experiences are just the start of the difference at CareOne at Moorestown.
