RACING TEAM SPRING 2023-2024 SEASON

November 28, 2023 -  May 13, 2024 (June 9 for some)

4:00 - 6:00 P.M. Tuesdays - Fridays, 7:30 - 10:00 A.M. Saturdays

The Racing Team Spring season commences with indoor training on Tuesday, November 28 (note there will be no practice from Dec 23-Jan 9).  The team will continue indoor training (ergs, weight room) until the river reopens in March 2023.  The Spring season ends on Thursday, May 13, 2024, except for crews that qualify for Youth Nationals (June 6-9, 2024). 

Cost:  $1,875 (includes $75 for regatta food tent).

Payable either in full or three installments; $600 due at the time of registration, $637.50 due by February 15, 2024  and $637.50 due by March 15, 2024.   *There will be no refunds unless a sickness or injury occurs. Refunds must be promptly requested by contacting SJRC via email. A $50.00 processing fee will be applied.  If a program is cancelled by SJRC, full refunds will be issued.

Registration must be completed by a Parent or Guardian for Athletes under 18 years of ageAthletes will not be allowed to participate in a practice until their registration is complete.  Additionally, all SJRC  rowers and coxswains will need to have a current USRowing Membership (at least the "Basic + Regatta Package" membership option -  approximately $35) at the time of registration valid through June 12, 2023.  Go to USRowing's website to register, use the club code: AQR49.

 

2024 Regatta Dates

Below are tentative regatta dates for 2024.  Please block off the entire day as all athletes are required to be there from start to finish of each regatta.  Additional regattas may be added to our season as newly announced races are confirmed.

Development Team - Winter 2024 Information

Practices:  Tuesdays/Thursdays - 6:00-7:45 PM 

Athletes should bring a water bottle and wear clothes that they are comfortable exercising in.  There may be times when the team goes outside, so bring a hoodie or something warm.  There are bathrooms and a place to store coats, backpacks etc.  Please arrive at 5:45. Parents do not stay but you are welcome to come in a meet the coaches.

Winter sessions (indoor at the Warehouse)

February 13-29     Cost $300
March 5-21              Cost $300

Spring Session (on the water)

March 26 - May 12    Cost $600

 New rowers must participate in one Winter session before rowing on the water.  

If you sign up for all 3 sessions, there is a $100 discount.

SJRC is a volunteer run,  501(c)(3) non-profit with youth programs to accommodate all levels of experience, aimed at building skills and confidence both on and off the waters of the Cooper River (NJ). Rowing is a year-round sport at SJRC, with options for everyone.
